Benefits of Membership

Affiliated with the National Association of Educational Office Professionals - www.naeop.org

Our History:

Superintendents of 157 cities during 1934 were asked to recommend secretaries to represent their school systems for a proposed organizational meeting. Ninety-six secretaries responded. This effort was sparked by Louise Henderson Nelson who was active in the Philadelphia Clerical Assistants organization. Since that exciting day in the spring of 1934, the National Association of School Secretaries - later changed to National Association of Educational Secretaries, now the National Association of Educational Office Professionals - has developed outstanding programs for educational office personnel.

Professional Standards Program:

The continuing education of educational office professionals is essential to cope with rapidly changing conditions in the profession.

The National Association of Educational Office Professionals (NAEOP) provides the opportunity for members to enhance their professional competencies through academic programs, conferences, and institutes. These incentive activities enable the members to take progressive steps to their desired professional growth level.

IAEOP PSP Chair, Mitzy Widebeck, CEOE, is available for assistance in helping complete your forms when applying for PSP certification through NAEOP.
