In order to help the environment and reduce printing and mailing costs, the IAEOP Beacon is GOING GREEN!
As of the Spring 2008 issue, the Beacon will be electronically distributed by posting to the IAEOP web site at
www.iaeop.com for viewing and printing.
Postcards will be sent instead of the Spring 2008 issue notifying the membership when the Beacon is ready to
view and reminding you to go to the web site for your copy.
During 2008, an email list will be built by Jenni Allen,
IAEOP Technology Chair, to notify members of the Beacon posting electronically to replace the post card notification.
More information about how to sign up for email notices will be in future Beacon issues.
If you DO NOT have Internet access, please notify Cathy Orseske to continue to receive a postal mailed paper
copy. Send a note to her at P.O. Box 295, Somonauk, IL 60552 to remain on the mailing list. |

In Memory...
IAEOP purchased a brick in memory of our late President, Darlene Lundgren, at the NAEOP national office in Wichita, Kansas. There is a Jackie Evans Memorial Garden at the national office and members of NAEOP can purchase bricks to honor people. We chose to honor Darlene because of her investment in IAEOP. For more information on the NAEOP brick project, please click here.

IAEOP History
Scrapbook Project |
 |
March 2006 - IAEOP Member,
Naomi Fettes, assisted with the IAEOP History Scrapbook project this
past year seeking teacher and student help from School District 158.
Huntley High School is located in McHenry County and presently has
approximately 1500 students. Naomi approached Mr. Zenner with the
possibility of scanning old documents and photos and saving them on
to a CD to view as a slide show.
The Industrial Tech Teacher for wood and photo instruction - Mr. John
Zenner accepted the offer to scan the old photos and scrapbook from
the year 1948-1964. Three National Honor Students – Jackie Dutton,
Alyson Gardner, and Amy Wills also assisted with this project. Mr.
Zenner said, “The kids had a great learning experience and I
enjoyed accepting the challenge.”
Fettes shared the CD slide show at the recent IAEOP Spring Conference
in Bloomington Normal on March 24-26, 2006.
Fettes presented a $100 check from IAEOP to Mr. Zenner, to use in
his classroom for photo supplies. 04.06.06
